CyberAID announces the publication, now available in both Romanian and English, of the educational guide “Artificial Intelligence & The Manipulation of Human Perception,” developed under the ADA program: “Analyze – Decide – Act.” As the platform hosting ADA, CyberAID continues to expand a structured ecosystem of resources designed to strengthen public understanding of digital risks and improve real-world cyber resilience.
Why this publication matters
Artificial Intelligence is increasingly used not only to automate processes, but also to shape attention, influence decisions, and manipulate perception at scale. From algorithm-driven content amplification to synthetic media and highly personalized persuasion, modern influence operations can operate faster, cheaper, and with greater reach than traditional methods.
This guide addresses that reality directly, explaining how AI-enabled manipulation works, where people and organizations are most vulnerable, and what practical measures can reduce risk.

What the guide covers
The publication provides a clear and actionable overview of key topics, including:
- AI-driven influence and narrative shaping through algorithmic amplification and engagement optimization
- Deepfakes and synthetic media (image, video, and voice) and how they are used in fraud and disinformation
- Large language models and automated persuasion, including scalable social engineering
- Behavioral and psychological vulnerabilities that make manipulation effective
- Practical protection measures: verification habits, decision discipline, and response steps when manipulation is suspected
The aim is not only awareness, but also behavioral resilience, helping readers recognize patterns, reduce impulsive reactions, and make better-informed decisions.
Authors and partners
CyberAID congratulates the authors Mircea Constantin Șcheau and Alexandru Ciprian Angheluș for delivering a high-quality, practical contribution aligned with ADA’s mission.
The guide also reflects valuable expertise and collaboration from Cloud Security Alliance Romania Official (a chapter of the Cloud Security Alliance), together with experts from the National Cyberint Center of the Romanian Intelligence Service (SRI), the Romanian National Cyber Security Directorate (DNSC), and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Romania – Romanian Police.
CyberAID and ADA: building resilience through usable knowledge
ADA (“Analyze – Decide – Act”) is designed to turn complex risks into accessible, actionable guidance. Through CyberAID, these resources will be published and expanded in stages, supported by practical materials, scenarios, and tools that help users apply what they learn in real contexts.
We encourage institutions, educators, professionals, and the general public to consult and share this guide, and to follow CyberAID for upcoming ADA releases focused on digital safety, cyber fraud, manipulation, and AI-related risks.
